Casteaway Arts

CasteAway Arts

CasteAway Arts is the Artistic wing of CasteWatchUK. CasteAway Arts will be launching a theatrical production called "The Fifth Cup".

Starring a range of multi-talented Midlands-based performers the play will be showing at The Drum theatre, 144 Potters Lane, Aston, Birmingham, B6 4UU.

The play is written by Rena Dipti Annobil and Reena Bhatoa and directed in association with Harvinder Sohal.

The play explores the theme of Caste discrimination and its devastating affects. Based on true life experiences, Caste Away Arts' debut production is a poignant insight into caste discrimination within the British-Asian community, viewed through the eyes of a young boy on a journey of self-discovery.

THE FIFTH CUP
When the Singh family move house they intend to leave their painful past behind them. Fifteen year old Amrit is oblivious to the reasons behind this desperate need to make a fresh start but all becomes clear when a Religious Education lesson at school changes his life.
